In electronic dance music, consistency in creativity and innovation remains king. There are few artists over the years that have stayed planted at the forefront of so many different eras of UK underground music than the one and only Champion. With a rich catalogue of multi-genre originals and remixes, the last three years alone have been pretty spectacular for the London-based soundsmith, maintaining his legendary status whilst also keeping his sound as forward thinking as ever. Maintaining the balance between mainstream success and underground affiliation is always a difficult path, but is one that Champion has trodden with relative ease, having spent numerous studio hours alongside the likes of Four Tet, Skrillex, MNEK, Becky Hill, Invisible Men & more. His past & present releases/collaborations have all caused a major buzz in dances and radio stations in the UK & around the world, including having ‘The Hottest Track In The World’ on Annie Mac’s prestigious Radio 1 show, holding four weeks in the 1Xtra playlist and frequenting the Radio 1 playlist.
This impressive form also translates to the live sector, with an impeccable run of performances as legendary events and venues such as Glastonbury, Boomtown’s mainstage, SW4, Nass Festival, Berghain and Fabric, alongside tours across most of Europe and the international hubs of US, Japan and India to name a few. The future remains bright for Champion, whose unique approach to both sound design and rhythm will always keep him at the front of the pack.
