Michi is a Latinx singer and songwriter based outside of Los Angeles. Her debut album, out in early 2025 on Stones Throw, blends MTV diva-era R&B with the groove of ’70s and ’80s funk and soul.
Singles released so far include “If You Want Me” and “There’s No Heaven”.
Having previously released pop-leaning singles, Michi has found a sound that’s authentic to her – fun, romantic, vulnerable, and confidently sensual. Her debut – produced by Blake Rhein of Durand Jones & the Indications and Paul Cherry (Jordana, Kate Bollinger) – is about emerging from heartbreak with self-love and vitality. Its songs centre on loving and leaving romantic partners, and emerging on the other side stronger than ever before.
