Having made a name for himself by DJing at Sweden’s biggest club venues and festivals, his music has since found its way to international platforms such as NTS, Dublab, and HÖR, proving that true grit and genuine artistry know no bounds.
Growing up in the suburb of Skarpnäck, Prof. Stranger initially pursued college basketball in New York but ended up abandoning his longtime hoop dreams and resorted to making music instead. Diving into at first hip-hop, he eventually found his sonic world in electronic music, moving freely between its various styles and blending it with other genres to craft his signature sound.
In 2022, Prof. Stranger released his Swedish Grammy-nominated debut album Love Is Forever through his label STUDIO94 Records. With standout tracks such as Admired You and Never Alone, the album showcased his foundation as a producer who seamlessly fuses nostalgic melodies and pulsating beats inspired by his humble surroundings, club music, and R&B.
A year later, Prof. Stranger’s music gained new traction when it found its way to a different audience after appearing on Year001’s V/A album [2023] with Back 2 Me, a high-energy track infused with Baltimore breaks and climatic build-ups. Since then, Prof. Stranger has consistently put out new music and performed eclectic DJ sets outside Sweden, in places such as London and Berlin.
Leveraging the diverse influences that shape his inner world, Prof. Stranger continuously pushes the boundaries of his sound. Committed to not being limited to a singular genre or style, his latest releases and DJ sets hint at a new direction for his upcoming album in 2023, characterized by faster BPMs and that same borderless feel. As he continues to hone his style through experimentation, the coming years see Prof. Stranger growing more and faster than ever.
