C’est qui ‘C’est Qui’ (Who is c’est qui? In French)? The answer is simple. Closet Yi and Naone aka C’est Qui, came up with the name two years ago when they first played their impromptu b2b set at club Contra in Seoul. After countless appearances as a fresh DJ Duo at local parties including their own events, only a few months later they played Boiler Room Seoul along with DJ Nobu, Hunee and Call Super. Their finely curated selections have attracted the attention of many music fans and promoters around the world, and their next step was tours in Asia followed by Europe tours in 2018 & 2019 with gigs at Ortigia Sound System Festival, Sisyphos, Village Underground, Phonox, Claire, Sacré, etc.
The b2b djing experience that they present on the stage is something new, a fun and rich mixture of instantaneity and superposition. Not knowing what track would be next, the two sometimes blend, or sometimes reflect one another by mixing 90s Detroit techno to Balearic Italian deep house treasures and pushing each other’s limits to the top.
The ingenious mixing and bold selections the girls have shown through mixes on NTS, Worldwide FM, Automat Radio, and Balamii proved how fluently and effortlessly they move through genres and emotions. With Naone’s punchy tight grooves and Closet Yi’s organic, steady vibes, they make the dancefloor keep going on&on.
They’re expecting an even busier year in 2020 with upcoming releases by their solo projects. Closet Yi’s forthcoming EP ‘TamTam Land’ is a depiction of the island Jeju in Korea, a 3 track album composed of organic percussions and atmospheric pad sounds, and Naone also has an EP release scheduled in 2020. They will continue their musical journey with more productions under the name of C’est Qui.
