Launched in 2017 by London-based DJ/producers SNØW and Ahadadream, in two short years More Time Records has made a name for itself with a forward-thinking signature sound of percussion-driven dance music. More Time’s releases reflect an international vision; marrying the sounds of Ghana, Trinidad, Saudi Arabia, The DRC and South Africa with a rugged UK edge that harmoniously circles bass, afrobeats, UK funky, grime and techno.
With monthly releases from the label founders, alongside Mina, Dismantle, Zed Bias, Bryte, Bala Bala Boyz, Mxshi Mo, Leila Samir and more, More Time’s forward-thinking model is already critically acclaimed; with regular support from leading tastemakers such as Benji B, Andrew Weatherall, Ben UFO, Giles Peterson, Jamz Supernova, Skream and Toddla T, alongside Mixmag, RA, DJ Mag, NPR and more.
More Time are also known for their high-energy parties in South East London – at Rye Wax and MOT Unit 18 – and Summer 2019 saw the label gain further recognition as they were invited to host stage takeovers at a selection of key UK festivals; Glastonbury, Boomtown, Kallida and the inaugural Boiler Room Festival. Those who were unable to attend, can always tune into More Time’s monthly show on Reprezent Radio, or stream their Peak Time playlist on Spotify.
In September, More Time announced their most ambitious project to date; Timewarp. The label will release one EP or single every week for twelve weeks, correlating with the twelve hours on the clock. Expect new music from co-founders Ahadadream and SNØW, alongside prized label artists and a few surprises thrown in, before the project concludes with a vinyl compilation release of all new music on the legendary R&S Recordings on Nov 29th, R&S presents: More Time Records Vol 1, and a celebratory More Time vs R&S party in London, on Nov 30th.
