“They are the perfect festival band, a combination of decades of great festival music into a modern and thrilling whole” – Louder Than War
Dutch-New Zealand trio: MY BABY plays roots and rock driven alternative dance music. It’s a sound shaped by blues and slide guitar mixed with psychedelic riffs and rises. A true angelic but raw and heartfelt voice, and pumping and haunting organic beats. MY BABY mixes the rawness of rock and punk, the warm sounds of roots and blues, with a touch of EDM and big beat. All played on guitars and drums. They have been spreading their psychedelic blues-trance rave to the approval of audiences worldwide since 2012, featuring on renowned festivals such as Glastonbury (UK), Isle of Wight (UK), Sziget (HU), Fusion (DE), Exit (RS), Lowlands (NL) and Pinkpop (NL).
Their fifth album, Sake Sake Sake, is out in April 2022. For this album the band teamed up with Steve Dub, the producer of the Chemical Brothers, out of which this dark and groovy song arose, with an unprecedented urgency. MY BABY’s latest track ‘it’s a setup’ is a moody reflection on truth and reality. It’s hauntingly dark groove follows an inner dialogue questioning things that aren’t quite what they seem. When our beliefs are tested it can lead to a refusal to accept societies false values, but we are never entirely certain of our position.
Are we being led astray or just suffering from full blown paranoia?
