NAINA is known for her inimitable blend of hard and fast dance music, delving between techno, footwork and jungle in true Hooversound style alongside broadcasting weekly around the world on Apple Music 1 & monthly on NTS.
NAINA’s audience have followed her radio journey and presenting career from Reprezent Radio to featuring across 4Music, Rinse FM, NTS, BBC 1Xtra and other platforms. NAINA finally took the helm in 2017 as a regular weekly London playlist DJ for Apple Music’s radio station (previously Beats 1), and hosts The Apple Music 1 List, all the dance mixes across the station, along with launching TALA Radio- the stations first show to focus on South Asian talent, which have included guests like Riz Ahmed, Priya Ragu and Nitin Sawhney.
Her audience are also fans of her record label Hooversound which she launched with fellow DJ, SHERELLE, and have had an amazing run of releases – including the likes of Chrissy, Mani Festo, Special Request x Tim Reaper and Sinistarr to name a few. NAINA now hosts the popular Hooversound show on NTS Radio. Alongside NAINA’s record label and radio career, NAINA’s aim alongside TALA Radio is to shine a spotlight on emerging South Asian talent, her followers closely support this mission alongside projects like No ID and Dialled In that she has contributed to.
The rising DJ and presenter champions electronic sounds in the club and at festivals across the country having played Glastonbury, Lovebox, Boomtown and Parklife to name a few. As well as being on the cover of Mixmag and playing The Lab London, NAINA has featured on Boiler Room twice (2017, 2019), been in VOGUE India, and was nominated for Best Radio Show at the DJ Mag awards in 2021. Her label Hooversound got nominated for Best Breakthrough Label via DJ Mag the year that it launched, amid a pandemic. Across Apple Music she hosts The Apple Music 1 List, the ‘One Mix’, TALA Radio aswell as hosting all the DJ mixes every Friday on air. NAINA’s energetic eclectic DJ sets and radio shows, alongside launching one of the most exciting labels in the UK, has cemented her place within Londons dance music scene.
