SIMMS is a London-based DJ and producer pushing jungle into a new era. The artist has become a key name in the city’s new wave of selectors, known for high-octane sets that move from misty, emotional pads into razor-sharp breaks and sub-heavy basslines. A resident of Foundation FM and regularly gracing clubs worldwide, he’s been described as a leading force in London’s new generation of junglists.
On the production side, SIMMS has built a cult following with a run of flips, refixes and originals that reframe R&B, garage and classic jungle through his own widescreen, video-game-coded lens. His SoundCloud and Bandcamp releases read like a living archive of this new school of jungle: emotive, sample-rich, but cut with the precision and impact of modern club music.

That energy has translated into co-signs from some of the key tastemakers of the genre. Shy FX continues to keep the artist close by via his Digital Soundboy imprint, having invited him to play his Notting Hill Carnival stage in 2025 alongside Jolie P. SIMMS has also graced the airwaves of Sherelle and Nia Archives’ respective radio shows on BBC Radio 6 Music and NTS respectively, whilst New York based innovator Takuya Nakamura invited him to open for his latest sold-out headline show at London’s Jazz Cafe. Even outside the core jungle community, SIMMS’ approach has caught the attention of artists on the global stage, with Tyler, The Creator showing love to his music on Instagram.

On air, SIMMS is truly at home. He holds a regular slot on Foundation FM and has guested across the UK’s key underground and specialist platforms including Balamii, NTS and Rinse FM. He most notably stepped up to BBC Radio 1Xtra for a mix on Tiffany Calver’s show, further underscoring his status as a selector bridging pirate-radio roots with next-gen club culture. Collaborations and remixes for artists such as Mysie have shown how naturally his sound wraps around vocal-led, future-soul songwriting, pushing jungle into intimate, emotional spaces as well as peak-time chaos.

Visually, SIMMS designs much of his own artwork and online world, with collaborators praising him not only as a DJ and producer but as a strong graphic designer whose aesthetic is as instantly recognisable as his drum programming. Together, the audio and visual sides make SIMMS feel less like a traditional DJ and more like a full-stack world-builder for this new wave of jungle – one whose rise is only just getting started.
