Oluwatobi Wande Ojosipe (aka Wande Coal) is one of Africa’s most revered vocalists/singer- songwriters, having inspired a generation of vocalists, singer-songwriters and award-winning musicians. Born in Lagos Island, Nigeria, Wande’s entry into music started early as a singer in the teenage choir at his Church. He got his break in the Nigerian entertainment industry as a Dancer before singing professionally.
Wande Coal garnered mainstream attention with the evergreen R&B-infused record “Ololufe”. Many have described the song as one of the greatest love songs written by a Nigerian. His impeccable vocal delivery and lyrical depth have led him to monumental success in his career. In 2010, Wande Coal won the most awards (5) in the then Hip-Hop World Awards (now The Headies).
His debut album “Mushin 2 Mohits” enjoyed wide critical acclaim amongst the Nigerian youth upon release. With singles “Bumper2Bumper”, “You Bad” feat. D’Banj, “Taboo” becoming fan favourites and era-defining records.
In 2015, Wande released his sophomore album “Wanted” with singles like My Way, Amorawa, Asimapeyin and a dynamic project featuring Skits from Seyi Law, Falz and IamJimmie. He has featured artists such as Wizkid, Burna Boy, Wale and renowned Nigerian producer Sarz.
